He asked me how many I sell at one time to one customer. My answer was “One”. His answer was “Two”. He said “How about the upstairs? The basement? The car? One for their second home?” We were on the phone, or he would have seen my jaw drop.

It simply never occurred to me to explore these secondary sales. And there is no better time to do that than when they are right in front of you in the buying mood.

This idea can be adapted to any kind of sales, in any environment.

If you have ever been approached by an ad rep, you know the feeling of confusion and frustration. They tell you how much your business will increase and how you will get SOOO many new customers.
