“Another Way To Double Your Sales In The Next 30 Seconds!” After someone makes a hefty purchase in your store..what do you do? A smart thing would be to make another hefty sale, wouldn’t you agree? We sell vacuum cleaners, ceiling fans, air purifiers, and heaters. We sell more, but these are our profit producing categories. After we sell a high end vacuum cleaner we ask “Did you say you have allergies? (if I remember that they did). May I show you something?” and I just lead them over to the air purifiers. And everyone that buys an air purifier or heater gets “May I show you something you may want to consider later?” and I take them to a high end vacuum cleaner. More than half the time they buy the second item right then. I don’t lead them to the second high ticket item until we ring up the first one. I want these to be two separate decisions (in the customer’s mind). I never want to lose the first sale because now they want to think about the whole thing. Many times I just act like I’m giving them information. But “giving information “ easily turns into a full blown product demonstration. Plus, I figure they got dressed up to go shopping.
