“How To Use TOMA Ads To Create Phenomenal Profits In Your Business” TOMA or Top Of Mind Advertising is not a profitable way to advertise by itself. TOMA ads rely on the constant repetition of getting your name into the customer’s mind. There is merit here when your goal is to build Brand Awareness. It is not effective in increasing sales. Repetition of an ad that builds no desire to buy….does not eventually build desire to buy. It builds the recognition of the brand name.
But I have found a real profit producing way to use TOMA ads to create profits…..
Use the TOMA ad to drive readers to your store (or small business) website.
Your website will contain a sales page that will create the desire to come in your store and give you money.
Here is an example of a TOMA ad that will drive traffic to your website;
““Pet Hair Problems? New Vacuum Cleaner Picks Up Pet Hair With One Pass. For Free Information And A Special Offer To Pet Owners Go To www.sweeperstore.com”
Why is this such a Great Idea? How much would it cost to place this ad in a newspaper...any newspaper? Not much. This is a display ad and not a classified ad. Do not put this in the classifieds to save money. You’ll get a terrible response.
Put this ad in the newspaper, or any local magazine. You can easily put something like this in a newspaper and it would only take at most four column inches (that means 2 columns wide and 2 inches tall) Make the print larger than the newspaper print so it will draw the reader’s attention. You can have the web link go directly to a specific sales page written for the responder of this little ad.
For example, my main local website is www.sweeperstoreonline.com. I would never send the reader of my sample ad to the home page of my website. I would send them to a sales page dealing specifically with pet hair and an offer for pet owners. You can just get a domain name at www.godaddy.com and have it link to your sales page.
You can then run several ads that appeal to different niches. Each little ad sending the reader to another sales page. For example, if you sell vacuum cleaners, you can have a sales page just for pet owners, a sales page just for allergy sufferers, and a sales page for older people that need a super lightweight easy to push vacuum cleaner.
Each sales page leads the reader to come into your store. You should have the reader print off the offer and bring it in for a special offer with purchase. That way, you’ll know what brought them in, and you’ll know why they are in your store.
You can run several of these little ads every week in your local paper. Your web pages are almost free to use and cheap to create. If you need help, my computer person Deborah will do the work for you. You pay her directly for her time. I am not profit-sharing here. It’s a favor because you are a subscriber. If you want to do it yourself, you can get everything you need at www.godaddy.com They even have a tutorial to show you how to build a website and a sales page.
Where did I get this idea? I pay $200 a month for a newsletter written for information marketers (like me). This idea has created incredible returns for Gurus in different niches. They run very small display ads in niche magazines or newsletters. The ads give the reader a reason to visit a web page. The web page sells the product. Very profitable. It didn’t take much brain power to figure out that this would work in any retail or small business.
Here are a few things a want to stress; Don’t advertise your phone number. If you do, you’ll be spending the day telling the same sales story over & over again. You’ll have to create desire from scratch...every time. If you don’t have a website, and refuse to use one, you will get calls fro having your phone number in the ad. But it’s Soooo much easier to send them to a website. And a website is non-threatening to the reader. They won’t have to talk to a (gulp) salesperson. Your response will shoot up if you send them straight to the website. The little ad must give the reader a reason to go to your website. “Free information to solve their problem” is enough. A freebie (a CD, free report, or brochure) helps. The people coming in your store will be pre-sold. Let the website do the heavy lifting for you. Send your time with qualified people who want to do business with you.
Of course, once the reader is on the sales page, you give your address and phone number. I welcome those calls.
Profit from this idea...I know I will. |
