“Marketing With Postcards...One Of The Cheapest And Most Profitable Ways To Attract New Customers”
Ha! I’’ll bet the word “Cheapest” is what attracted you!
One of the cheapest ways to attract new buyers is the lowly 4-inch by 6-inch postcard. I have a company that mails them to everyone in my area for about 15 cents each. It’s called the Town Money Saver. Their phone number is 330-466-4662. My rep’s name is Deanna.
Or you can send postcards to your own list of customers. I would then recommend using Postcardmania. Their website is ...well...www.postcardmania.com
There are several ways to make sure these postcards create a profit for you. Here are the rules; Use up all the available space on the postcard. Tell as much about your offer as the space will allow. This isn’t a time to use white space to make the card look more aesthetic. Use both sides of the postcard. The customer may not look at both sides. So you need your headline on both sides...at the top...to grab the reader’s attention. Always put the deadline of the offer on both sides of the postcard. Always have an offer if they bring in the postcard. Like “Bring in this postcard for a free ___with any purchase”. You want to be able to see if this promotion works. And the best way to track your response, is if they just brig in the postcard. This also tends to make them keep the postcard (because they need to bring it in). They can’t lose your contact information. And there will be no miss-understanding about the offer. Use full color in your postcards. It grabs the eye, and it costs very little. Use cosmetic enhancements like Copydoodles. (www.copydoodles.com). This is underlining, arrows, blurbs, and other graphics that will grab attention and direct the reader’s eyes. Synergy works here. Strangely, I’ve found that postcards actually draw better when you are running another larger ad in another media. Also...it works better if someone else is advertising the same product (or a dead on copy) in another media.
I have included a postcard I’ve used with great success on page 12. Please study it, and try to count all the different elements that I’m using to increase sales. Enjoy.
