“Is this any way for a local small business to treat a customer? Or.....The Devil Is A Dentist” My wife’s Dentist gave her a dental implant... It shifted in her jaw. She called about the pain...went in...and he told her that the anchor that holds the implant had shifted and that he had to start over again. The $2,500 she had already paid didn’t count. It would be another $2,500 plus the cost of the implant. She paid it ( I found out after the fact), and then paid for the implant itself. Personally, I think it was stupid to charge for a mistake he made (a shifting implant means it wasn’t anchored correctly in the first place). Anyway, he told her that she needed to see him every three months for a checkup and cleaning. Every three months….I guess until she figured out that her teeth are only going to get Sooo clean. So one day she had the appointment for her “quarterly dental extortion”. A few hours before the appointment, we got a call from a relative that asked Cheryl to come over for a family matter. Cheryl called the dental office and said “I’m sorry, but I’ll have to reschedule my appointment today” The woman at the office said “You can’t cancel appointments less than a day away. You’ll have to pay for the appointment anyway” Cheryl said “No.” and hung up. And that was that. I’m guessing that she spent ...in exams alone…$800 a year...plus whatever work she needed. That business is now Gone. We’ll find a friendlier dentist. Lesson? Don’t try to piss off your customers when they are giving you money. |
