“The Two Biggest Secrets On How To Make A Ton Of Money Selling Impulse Items At Your Retail Store Counter” You’ve seen them...at the retail store checkout...Gum, pens, magazines, candy, combs, etc. These are inexpensive items with a high markup that will create a certain % of the store’s profit. Here are the two most important things to know; The items don’t have to be cheap. We have items that are $49, $199, and $495 as our impulse items at our sales counter. Now, do people just take one, and put it with the vacuum cleaner bags they just bought...as an afterthought? Almost never. These items have to be demonstrated. A minute or two will do. Amazingly, after they just bought a $800 vacuum cleaner...a $495 air purifier doesn’t sound that expensive. You want them to ask about the product (on your counter) first. It allows you to answer the questions without setting off the “He’s trying to make a sale!” alarms. So the product should be running (if it is electrical), or at least on display doing something (like a candle smelling nice). One of my favorite things to say is “This retails for $495, but we are running a Special. If you buy this with a (whatever they just bought!), you get an extra $50 off. If you’re going to get one within the next year anyway...now would be the time”. About 15% of the time...they buy. And you get a sale that cost you nothing to advertise... no money to promote...almost no time to sell...and all I ask is you e-mail me about your experience. Fair enough? |
