“The Valentine’s Day Massacre At My Retail Store!” Valentine’s day was a few days ago. I was talking to a friend about an incident that happened two Valentine’s Days ago. You really need to hear this. The day before Valentine’s day, a guy stopped by my store and said that he had roses for $20 a dozen. Is that a good deal? I have no idea. I said “No thanks”, and he left. Soon afterwards, someone told me that the next day was Valentine’s day. WHAT!!???? If that idiot had simply said “Tomorrow is Valentine’s day...Roses are $40 a dozen” I would have said “Sure, Man am I glad you reminded me!”. The lesson here is; Just because you know something, doesn’t mean the customer does. List every reason that they should buy, when you are presenting your product. Don’t assume that your customer knows about your product. You never know what may trigger that “Man, I didn’t know that! Now, I need one!” |
