“The Best Way To Kill The Buyer’s Urge To Buy”

Don’t talk negatively about anything in front of your customer. Ever.
I don’t even agree with the customer when they do it.

If a customer says “That guy down the street is a complete Jerk...don’t you think so?”
I say “I’ve never had a problem with him personally”.

Now, why do I do that? Because if I say ““I agree with you” then that will turn into “The guy at the Sweeper Store said that his competitor is a jerk!”.

And that starts wars. And rumors are bad for business.

And never complain about the economy...or declining business in front of a customer. Why? Because no matter how they talk about their own personal problems with money...you will never make a sale if the customer feels you are going to go out of business.  Lower sales sounds like you can’t run a business....like you’re not in control.

Do you suffer from a physical ailment? Try to keep it to yourself.  After you’ve told your “tale of woe” to your customer...they now have to tell you theirs. None of that leads to business.

Earlier this month, I went to a speech from a woman that was going to tell us how to increase our business (or so I thought).

She spent the entire time telling the audience about her bout with disease…..and nothing else. She obviously needed to tell people about her problems...but not there.
