I recently had a lady come in with a consumer magazine under her arm. She saw that most of the vacuums we sold were not listed in her magazine. She asked why. Here is what I told her;


“Consumer reports is there for people who haven’t seen (or can’t see) the product. Have you ever seen a movie that you loved, but the critics gave it a bad review? You don’t consider movie reviews after you’ve seen the movie...because then you can decide for yourself.  CR can tell you how they compare, but not which one you’ll like the most. That’s why we have every model here, so you can see for yourself. And choose the best one for your individual needs. OK?”

It got a good reception, answered her question, and led to a high end sale. I just thought I would pass it on.
